We moved into this house for just over a year now.

And I have been slowly putting it together to look like a real home.

I have already made some warm touches here and there, such as my Interchangeable Home Sign DIY.

Also, I’ve started painting the master bedroom and the guest bedroom as well.

But honestly, with a full-time job and a full time running my home this has been going slow.

That’s why I decided to focus on one room at a time.

And to start off with the right foot I chose one of the smallest.

My main bathroom.

Both of my bathrooms have black and white tiles.

With black being the dominant color.

So, I had to ask myself…

What colors go with black and white tile bathroom?

There it is a lot of colors you can use to match your black and white tiles.

If you are looking for modern black and white decor you can use gold, silver, and even touches of greenery decorations.

If you like something more monochromatic stick with those two colors and choose your elements wisely.

If you need help choosing the colors I recommend that you read my post on How to make and choose a color palette for your room.

In my case, I decided to stick with the latest and added just a touch of green with these faux flowers and a glass bowl.

I removed the “steam” of the bouquet (which I ended up using on my fabric pumpkins DIY) and some of the leaves.

Then, I simply placed it on the rack.

As for the color gold, I bought this beautiful bathroom set from Amazon.

It has such a nice and elegant texture with finishing touches of the color gold.

Which, I fall in love with.

As I didn’t need both the soap dispenser and soap holder in one bathroom, I won.

I used the soap holder for my downstairs bathroom.

You gotta love the 2×1 deals ha?

But what about the rest of the decor?

It all started with a Shower Curtain.

My Black and white bathroom decor inspiration began with this cute curtain that happened to be on discount at Walmart.

The reality is that I just wanted to get rid of the ugly and plain brown one that I used to have.

It started to get moldy and I had zero moods to cleaning it.

So, against my Zero-waste promise, I got rid of it and replaced it with this one.

When the curtain was installed my inspiration and ideas began to come.

(Disclosure: I know the whites look goldish in the video. That’s because I used warm light to record)

The storage

This is how my bathroom rack used to look like.

In my defense, I live with my man.

And not to be too gender-driven but men are pigs! (Most the ones I know, sorry if you are a man reading this)

Bathroom Organization

As much as I tried to put things in boxes or to organize them I simply couldn’t.

His stuff and mine were all scrambled together.

So I needed a cute and practical solution for both of us to have our stuff separated but organized.

The best option when it comes to product organization is to hide them all.

Why?

Because they will usually be of all sorts of colors and sizes.

So there’s really no way to organize it and keep it pretty at the same time.

There is when I made my Free Fabric Boxes Patterns. For me and you.

If you know your way into a sewing machine of course.

The print of these boxes was of course, black and white. And I also quilted them to look more beautiful.

I left the big box to my hubby, because believe it or not he has more garbage than me.

What color do towels go with black and white bathroom decor?

For a white and black bathroom decor stick with either white or black towels depending on which one of those two colors is dominant in your decor.

The next thing was choosing a place to put my towels and toilet paper replacement.

So, I bought this cute farmhouse tin bucket and folded my towels right next to it.

Then I placed 4 rolls of toilet paper inside the tin and finished the decor with a beige luffa.

Lighting.

wall lights for a black and white bathroom decor.

The type of light you want to choose (either warm or cold) will depend on the mood you want for your bathroom.

You should also think about the purpose of it.

For example, if you put on makeup in your bathroom, the lighting should preferably be cold.

This so you can better imitate the light outside.

On the other hand, if you want to have a warmer and more relaxing atmosphere, use yellow lighting.

For my bathroom, I decided to use these Ball-shaped bulbs that not only give a wonderful warmth but also a very clean and elegant look.

A very nice upgrade as they were before.

Black and White Bathroom Decor Elements and details.

Finally to complete this redecorating job I took into my own hands to make the final details by myself.

The first thing was to balance how the rack looked like.

I already had my greenery and my farmhouse touch.

So, at the bottom right of my hubby’s fabric box, I decided to put my Reusable Makeup Remover Pads which I always use before going to bed.

But I couldn’t just throw them in there. Could I?

No.

That’s why I clean a beautiful old candle jar to put them in there.

I have to say, this element matched perfectly with the glass flower Pot.

As for my micellar water, I recycled a transparent soap dispenser. Then I removed the labels and poured the water in there.

As a result, I got a perfectly clean and organized rack.

The final thing for me to add was a beautiful shower mat.

I spend a lot of time looking online for one that I would like with no success.

Then I remembered the famous leaf mat trend going on Pinterest.

Eureka!

I took an old T-shirt, made another free leaf mat sewing pattern and I made this gorgeous mat, under 30 minutes!

Extra touches of decor.

If you want to go even further with the final details you can remember to always buy black and white amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

Use only black and white towels.

And, if you have cleaning products exposed like my DIY toilet cleaning pods, make sure to keep them in clear containers.

I hope you liked my version of black and white bathroom decor and that you can take advantage of the free patterns that I made for you.
