We want you to enjoy every purchase you make from My Golden Thimble. These Terms & Conditions are here to explain exactly what you can expect when buying our digital products—like sewing patterns, printables, and templates—and what we expect from you in return.
Because our products are delivered instantly in a digital format, they can’t be “returned” the way physical items can. For this reason, we have a strict no-refund policy that applies to all digital sales, with the only exceptions outlined below. These terms also explain how you are allowed to use your purchase, how we protect our intellectual property, and how we handle discounts and promotions.
By making a purchase from our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions. This helps us continue creating high-quality designs while protecting the work, time, and creativity that goes into each product.
1. Return & Refund Policy for Digital Products
By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Digital Product Refund & Access Policy.
1.1 Definition
For the purposes of these Terms, “Digital Products” include, but are not limited to, sewing patterns, printables, e-books, templates, guides, stickers, and any other downloadable or electronically delivered materials sold through My Golden Thimble.
1.2 No Refunds
Due to the instant, irrevocable nature of Digital Products, all sales are final. Once a Digital Product has been purchased and the download link or file access has been provided, no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations will be granted under any circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Change of mind or personal preference
- Incorrect purchase or duplicate orders
- Dissatisfaction with the content, style, or perceived value
- Incompatibility with your software or equipment, unless due to a proven fault in the file itself
This policy applies whether or not the customer has downloaded, opened, or used the product. Once a product has been purchased by you, no right of cancellation or refund exists under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 due to the electronic nature of our products.
1.3 Technical Issues
If you experience difficulty accessing your purchase, you must contact My Golden Thimble within 7 calendar days of purchase via the official contact form. You will be required to provide:
- Proof of purchase
- The email or account you used to complete the purchase
- A clear description of the issue
- Screenshot(s) or error messages demonstrating the problem
My Golden Thimble will take all reasonable steps to provide a corrected file. Providing a replacement file and technical support (when applicable) is the sole remedy available; refunds will not be issued for technical issues unless My Golden Thimble is unable to deliver a functioning file.
1.4 Chargebacks
By purchasing, you agree not to initiate chargebacks or payment disputes for Digital Products without first contacting My Golden Thimble to attempt resolution. Unauthorized chargebacks are considered a breach of these Terms, and My Golden Thimble reserves the right to dispute them with the payment processor, providing these Terms and your order information as evidence.
2. License of Use
2.1 Personal Use Only
Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download, store, and use the Digital Product solely for your own personal, non-commercial use.
2.2 Prohibited Uses
You may not, under any circumstances:
- Share, upload, email, or otherwise distribute the product to any third party
- Re-sell, re-license, rent, or sublicense the product
- Publish the product or any part of it on file-sharing websites, social media, or public forums
- Modify the product and sell it as your own work
- Use any part of the product for creating new products intended for sale without purchasing a commercial license
2.3 Commercial Use
If you wish to use a Digital Product for commercial purposes, you must contact My Golden Thimble via DM on our Facebook page to purchase a Commercial License. Unauthorized commercial use is a violation of copyright law and will be subject to enforcement.
3. Intellectual Property & Copyright Protection
3.1 Ownership
All Digital Products, whether modified or unmodified, and all related materials, remain the sole and exclusive property of My Golden Thimble. All rights, title, and interest, including but not limited to copyright, trade dress, and design rights, are and shall remain vested in My Golden Thimble worldwide.
3.2 No Transfer of Rights
Purchasing a Digital Product does not grant you ownership of the content. You are granted only a limited, personal-use license as outlined in Section 2 of these Terms. No part of the product may be used beyond the scope of that license without prior written consent.
3.3 Prohibited Uses
Without limitation, you may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display the product or any part of it
- Upload the product to public platforms, file-sharing sites, or social media for download
- Modify or alter the product and claim it as your own work
- Incorporate parts of the product into new works for sale without a valid commercial license
- Sell, gift, or transfer the product to any third party
- Use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the content found on our website or within our files—including but not limited to photographs, images, graphics, illustrations, text, written instructions, layouts, and design elements—without our prior written permission.
3.4 Enforcement & Consequences
My Golden Thimble actively monitors and enforces its intellectual property rights. Any unauthorized use may result in:
- Immediate termination of your license without refund
- Issuance of DMCA takedown notices to hosting providers, marketplaces, and social media platforms
- Infringement claims under applicable copyright laws in your jurisdiction and/or internationally
- Recovery of damages, including any profits made from the unauthorized use
- Recovery of reasonable legal fees and costs associated with enforcement
3.5 Global Protection
These rights are protected under copyright laws and treaties worldwide. You agree to comply with all applicable copyright and intellectual property laws regardless of your location.
3.6 Acknowledgement
By purchasing, you acknowledge that violating these terms may expose you to civil liability and, in some jurisdictions, criminal penalties.
4. Coupons & Discounts
4.1 General Terms
Coupons, discount codes, and promotional offers (“Coupons”) are offered at the sole discretion of My Golden Thimble and may be withdrawn or modified at any time without prior notice.
4.2 Redemption Rules
Unless otherwise stated:
- Coupons must be applied at checkout before completing the purchase; they cannot be applied retroactively to past orders
- Coupons have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit
- Coupons cannot be combined (“stacked”) with other coupons, promotions, or discounts unless expressly stated in the specific promotion
- Coupons may be limited to certain products, categories, or minimum purchase amounts as specified in their individual terms
- Expired coupons will not be honored under any circumstances
4.3 Fraudulent Use
Any attempt to use a coupon in a manner inconsistent with its stated terms, or to circumvent coupon limitations (including creating multiple customer accounts), may result in cancellation of the order and/or revocation of the coupon without refund.
5. Acceptance of Terms
5.1 Binding Agreement
By accessing our website, browsing products, placing an order, or completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, including our No Refund policy for digital products.
5.2 Pre-Purchase Disclosure
We make our Terms & Conditions publicly available on our website at all times. It is your responsibility to review these terms before making a purchase. Continuing with your order is considered full and unconditional acceptance of these terms.
5.3 Dispute Prevention
By agreeing to these terms, you waive any right to claim that you were unaware of our policies, including but not limited to refund restrictions, licensing terms, and intellectual property protections.
6. End of the Year Giveaway
- The competition is open to residents of the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada and México aged 18 years or over.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
- By entering this competition, an entrant indicates his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter will be provided via our Facebook Group and our Newsletter. Only members of said networks will be able to enter the competition.
- Multiple entries will be accepted per person per social network. Each entry should be different from one another.
- The closing date for entry will be 11:59 pm EST on January 1, 2023. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows: post one or more pictures of a sewing project you made using a My Golden Thimble Sewing Pattern or an Online tutorial. The caption of the post must include the name of the pattern or project and what you liked the most about it. The post must include the following hashtags: #mgtendoftheyeargiveaway #mygoldenthimble. Entries without hashtags won’t be considered to participate in the contest.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. The promoter will notify entrants of any changes to the competition as soon as possible.
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
- The prize is one printed pattern from My Golden Thimble’s shop chosen by the winner, one random free sewing pattern from My Golden Thimble, one tote bag pattern, and one surprise sewing gadget. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- Three winners will be chosen at random by software from all entries received and verified by the Promoter by January 1, 2023.
- The winners will be notified within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner can not be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- The promoter’s decision regarding all matters to do with the competition will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- By entering this competition, an entrant indicates his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The winners agree to use their names and images in any publicity material and their entries.
- Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, or any other Social Network. You provide your information to My Golden Thimble and not to any other party.
7. Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information that you provide whilst visiting such sites, and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
