I am so excited to take you into this year’s Fall Home Decor Tour!

This year, I got to put together a lot of my own DIY fall decor elements that I have made for our free sewing pattern shop.

And let me tell you, I am very happy with how it turned out.

It has an undeniable sense of cozyness and warmth with rich orange and gold colors.

You can almost smell the pumpkin spice. Which I obviously put in my candle warmer.

That smell of comforting and warm spices made the whole decorations feel just right, with a feeling of coziness in the room you just want to be in all weekend.

So, if you want to know how I did this to replicate it at home, keep reading till the end!

So please, go ahead and join me while I open the doors to my humble home and take you on a visual feast of bright autumn-inspired decor.

Tips and Tricks for your Fall Decor.

Creating a cozy and inviting fall home decor can be a super fun activity for you and your family, and it’s easier than you think. Here are a few tips you can use to achieve a warm and inviting autumn home decor.

  • Start with a Fall Color Palette. Choose a color palette with earth tones and stick with it. These may be colors such as deep oranges, rich browns, golden yellows, and rustic reds.
  • Make a budget. Before you even start filling that shopping cart with every cute decor element on Amazon, think how much you want/can spend on it. This will help you choose your elements more wisely.
  • Consider DIY. Making your own decorations is very fun and budget-friendly. Research some Fall Decor Projects you might replicate at home for much less money.
  • Add Seasonal Scents. Believe it or not. Scents play a great part in a decoration’s ultimate feeling. Get some fall-scent candles to bring your room together.
  • Decide your theme. Choose a main focus on your decor. Will there be pumpkins, leaves, printables, flowers? That will give you consistency in your elements.

Overall, you remember to stay true to your own style and preferences. Don’t try to copy something that doesn’t feel like you. At the end of the day, you need to create a space in which you feel amazing.

Fall Home Decor Tour 2023- Room by Room.

Living Room Fall Decor

Let’s start with everyone’s favorite room first -the living room.

This is my second favorite place in my house (the first one is my sewing room, of course)! And one of the rooms I spend the most time in.

Now, for my home, I have tried to keep a Farmhouse style. My own version of it, at least.

I am not an interior designer, of course. So what I do is get my inspiration on Pinterest as any other mortal and then try to translate that into my own home.

Window Garland

My windows have always been decorated with faux nature garlands. And depending on the season, I change them.

I had a greenery garland in Spring, and on Christmas, I had a cute pine one.

This fall, I went for this super affordable fall leaves garland I got from Amazon last year.

They come in a pack of 12, allowing me to spread them around the first floor and have a couple extra to spare.

I made these cute pillow covers in two orange tones for my couch.

Tassel Pillow Cover

I used my Free Pumpkin Face Stencil to make the first pillow cover, and for the second one, I made a basic cover with DIY Thread Tassels.

Making the tassels for those pillow covers was super easy, as I used a little hack with my sewing machine and my bobbins.

I literally made them in a couple of minutes, and I didn’t have to wrap the threads with my hand or anything. It is a pretty cool hack that you can use in many other things, so make sure to check that out.

As for the cute little pumpkin face pillow, well.

Pumpkin Face Pillow Cover

DIY 10 minutes Halloween pillow with free pumpkin Stencil. A great idea for quick Halloween crafts and decorations.

This project is really special to me because it was one of the first ones I shared with free printables and patterns.

I wanted it to be super easy and something you could do without fancy tools, so I used one of my favorite DIY tricks—the paper contact method—to make the stencil.

With some fabric paint and a sponge brush, I went for it, and I think it turned out pretty cool!

But there’s more! In my tutorial, I’ll show you how to get creative with different styles of pumpkin faces. So, make sure to check that one out and download your free stencil to copy my pillow covers.

Coffee Table -DIY Felt Pumpkins

As for my coffee table, I initially had my No-Sew Pumpkins, which I just made this month with my ex’s sweater.

And I really do know that it isn’t necessary to say who the sweater belongs to, but I find it a little funny, LOL.  You can read all about it in that post.

As I was saying.

I initially had the cozy and fluffy No-Sew Pumpkins. But after playing for a while with the numerous fall elements I had, I decided to put my DIY Felt Pumpkins instead.

These cute pumpkins, which I made with bright colors and different shapes, seemed like the best choice for this area.

Underneath them, I placed a simple strip of burlap fabric and a couple of loose leaves stripped from the fall garland from my windows.

Now, here is a tip for you.

As I have a ceiling fan just on top of my coffee table, the leaves are always blown away. So what I did was simply add a bit of tape underneath each leaf so they would stay in place.

A pretty cool thing about these pumpkins is that I made them using my fabric scraps as a filling.

That means that they hold their shape perfectly! Also, they are heavy enough to stay upward without falling but not that heavy as to add too much weight when I store them.

Mantel and TV area.

I have had this little black furniture (I don’t know what the name is. Do you?) since I first moved out of my Mom’s home.

It came with me on all my moves; somehow, I don’t remember buying it. Funny, is it?

As my home didn’t come with a fireplace and I haven’t got into making my own yet, this little credenza? It has to act as my mantel.

Teal-Themed Fall Wreath Pumpkins

For this space, I made a sort of mix-and-match with my fall decor elements.

On the very top, I placed some of the Fabric pumpkins I made for my Teal Fall Wreath.

I used a very nice and sparkly organza fabric and a satin one for these pumpkins. What I wanted these pumpkins to be more elegant and classy.

I used the same technique as I did on my Felt Pumpkins above to make them.

Next to them, I put some store-bought plastic pumpkins I got from Amazon in gold tones.

Embroidery Ghost Garland -Free Pattern

This Ghost Garland-Free Embroidery file has to be one of my favorite Halloween projects I have made so far.

One thing you have to know about me. I love Halloween as much as any other person.

But the thing is, I am not that crazy for the scary part of it. I can’t even watch scary movies!! Like ever. My mind just gets super weird, and I end up having nightmares for weeks.

DIY & Crafts

So, I never want to do anything spooky for my Halloween decorations, and I always go for cute and sweet decor.

These ghosts were made with simple craft felt and my embroidery machine. But in the tutorial, I also tell you how to make them if you don’t have a machine like mine.

Just in case you were wondering.

They come in three different ghost shapes and have another cute element.

Instead of using simple yarn or thread, I made a string with beads to give it a little sparkly sparkly. This was perfect because they are so lightweight that they move with the air from the fan, and it seems like they are flying.

No-Sew Sweater Pumpkins DIY

As the stars of my “mantel” decor, I placed my lovely, super cozy No-Sew Sweater Pumpkins.

Now, I know I told you in my coffee section above what (or better said, whose) sweater I used for this project. So, if you want that gossip, go and read that part.

When it comes to the pumpkins, it was a really quick DIY project, more so because I didn’t have to use my sewing machine or any thread or needle to make them.

The only thing I needed was things that I already had at home: the sweater, some rubber bands, craft filling, and a branch I got from my roof garden.

That was it! Just that, and just 15 minutes later, I had these three beautiful and fluffy pumpkins to decorate my home.

If you want to replicate them, make sure to check out my tutorial, which includes a pretty cool video, too.

Dining Room

For my dining area, things were pretty straightforward. I simply carried over elements from the items I placed in the living room. Since my house is on the smaller side, the living and dining areas are right next to each other in an open space.

I wanted it to look like a pumpkin patch, so I used the same technique as I did for my coffee table. I placed a burlap strip along the bottom, and I arranged the little felt pumpkins I made on top.

Kitchen Frame

Just before entering the area where the stove is located, there’s a small frame that accents the space.

I adorned this frame with the autumn leaf garland I found on Amazon. That way, it could match my living room window frame.

Home Sign Wall Decor DIY

fall home decor tour

As for wall decor, I used my very own ‘Home’ sign that I crafted, along with photos of my loved ones.

This ‘Home’ sign is one of my absolute favorites, as it adds so much warmth to my home, and the best part is I can change the lettering to suit the season.

Fall Seasonal Home Sign

Creating this sign was super easy – I simply bought the foam lettering from a local craft store and wrapped it with some jute string.

You can find a step-by-step guide on how to make your own home sign in the tutorial I’ve linked above.

Fall Wreath.

And to wrap up this tour of my first-floor home, I want to share with you the autumn wreath I crafted for the bathroom door.

I absolutely adore this wreath because it boasts earthy hues that truly resonate with the season. What’s even more exciting is that I dyed the felt myself using natural ingredients from my very own kitchen. To achieve this, I turned to coffee and turmeric.

And though, I did venture into another experiment that didn’t quite go as planned (so I left that one out). The white color was the original shade of the felt. These three elements came together beautifully to create this wreath.

And that was it, my friend!

I would really, really love to know your thoughts about my fall home decor. Please make sure to leave me your comment in the box below.

Also, what are you putting on our home this season?? Anything exciting?? I want to know it all!

Have a wonderful happy, cozy season!
