When I started thinking about what color scheme I would like for my Sewing Room Wall Decor I was going for something fun and colorful.
Pastels were on the list. Also, it has a very bright and cheerful aesthetic.
I ended up with an ice cream truck theme and color palette.
So, it was no surprise that that change never occurred in my favorite room.
It is not that I don’t love cheerful colors. I do.
But they don’t represent me. They don’t make me feel at home.
So, I never even had the intention of trying to put some wall decor ideas together.
A few years passed, and I began with my Sewing Room Organization Challenge. I moved a lot of things around.
So this was the perfect time to finally decide on the most significant change of my Sewing Room Decoration ideas.
Changing my wallpaper design.
Aesthetic Wallpaper Room Decor.

When redecorating a room, the first and most important thing is to decide your color palette.
The whole room decoration elements will pivot around this very important thing.
As we said in our post “10 Steps to the Perfect Sewing Room Plan”, the colors we choose spark emotions.
That is why it’s so important to get it right. You are going to be surrounded by these color schemes all the time.
Therefore, if you don’t choose a combination of colors that brings you joy, you are going to work only to be disappointed.
And believe me, you don’t want to spend 1 week of your life putting on a wallpaper only to hate it.
Because putting on wallpaper is HARD!
You have to L-O-V-E it. Period.
That’s why when the perfect aesthetic wallpaper for my sewing room decor appeared in my world, I took it!
How can I decorate my room with wallpaper?
To decorate your room with wallpaper, first, you should know what colors you want for the kind of vibe you want to show. Then it’s just a matter of deciding which wall you wish to place it on, and choosing a design you would love to see every day.
Photowall, a Swedish company that ships worldwide, provided this beautiful wallpaper.
They have a huge variety of designs. So it took me a full 2 days to finally choose the one I wanted.
But the cool thing is that I already had my color palette in mind, so I used their color and theme filters to narrow my choices down.
That’s how I came to this beautiful design called Tanglewood Forest Veridian. It comes in 3 color schemes if I am not mistaken.
Check out the before and after of my Sewing Room:
I chose the Dark Green one.
You see. I needed something that made my working space feel like an extension of myself.
This kind of dark yet full-of-life design was perfect for me. It’s elegant and peaceful, and it opens a lot of possibilities for vintage and gold furnishings that I always wanted to use.
Which wall should I Wallpaper?
On the topic of which wall you should put on your wallpaper, my advice splits. On the one hand, if you are using plain colors with texture wallpaper for your aesthetic, you can put it on all the walls. But if your wallpaper has a print design on it, then choose one or a maximum of two walls.
The reason for this is that a printed design will saturate your room if you use it on all the walls.
You have to be very wise as to which elements of storage and shelving you want for your room and if they will make a match with the aesthetic wallpaper room decor.
Another thing to consider is that if you are using a plain color but it is a dark one, you want to use it on only one of the walls.
Preferably the center one. This will make your room look more deep and bigger than it actually is.
I did this with my master bedroom decor, on which I painted only the center wall.
If you apply a dark color on all the walls of your room, it will look considerably smaller.

In my case, I decided to go for the center and consecutive wall of my room.
This is because I have the furniture (my sewing tables) on that corner. So, it makes sense that the design of the wall continues the same way my table does.
I hope you enjoyed this post and that it helped you to get inspiration for your decor. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about wallpaper installation that you would like to be answered.
