I can’t begin to tell you how long I have wanted a Hanging Toiletry Travel Bag. I have had one on my Amazon shopping cart for what feels like forever.

Since I made my Jewelry Travel Case, I wanted a bag such as this one to pair it up.

But of course, as the excellent seamstress I am, every time I saw the “buy” button, I would say, “I can sew that.”

There are so many things I do that I have lost count.

But this bag has been on the top of my mind above all other “I can make that” projects.

So, this past week I decided it was long overdue. I had to make it!

What is this Pattern all About?

The Bailey Toiletry Travel Bag is an amazing PDF Sewing Pattern that you can instantly download and print at home.

The files include the most common paper sizes (Letter, A4, A0) and a Projector file with a Grid Guide for you to cut directly on the fabrics.

As for the sewing, instructions will also get detailed step-by-step PDF pictures and written sewing directions. This file includes tips, tricks, and links to support materials and related tutorials.

This bag has two separate storage units.

You’ll have a flat bag on the top to store things like makeup brushes, band-aids, small jewelry, bobby pins, and more.

You can use vinyl fabric to sew this bag, as ideal to see everything at once without the need to take it out.

The second bag is a box 3-dimensional bag. This bag is sewn with two panels. 

One is made with vinyl to see what’s inside the bag, and the bottom is made from the same fabric you used on the outside. 

We strongly recommend using heavyweight fusible interfacing on this part of the bag to give more structure and strength to the entire product.

As for the closure, we decided to use a magnetic snap button. 

This type of button is as practical as strong—the perfect choice for this kind of sewing project.

Final Project Measurements.

The final measurements for the closed bag are 5 ½” x 3” x 9 ½”.

The open measurement is 15 ½” tall. It is pretty convenient to move from one room to another if you are in a hotel.

It has a handle on the back and a hanging loop on the top flap to place all your items on display on any hook available.

What do I need to Sew a Hanging Toiletry Bag Sewing Pattern? 

To make this bag, you will need the following materials:

• ½ yard of woven fabric for the outside.
• ¼ yard of woven fabric for the lining.
• Heavyweight Woven fusible interfacing.
• Medium to lightweight fusible interfacing.
• Transparent Vinyl fabric (12-30 gauge).
• 15 cm/ 12 inch zipper
• 30 cm-18 inch zipper
• Bias Tape
• 1 magnetic snap button
