Use this Circle Skirt Calculator to draft full-circle skirts with any waist and length measurement you want.
What’s a Circle Skirt?
A skirt from a half, complete, or multiple circles of fabric. It has a hole in the middle of the circle with a diameter that measures waist circumference.
How does the Circle Skirt Calculator Works?
Insert your body measurement values on the teal chart at the top left.
The Circle Skirt Calculator will throw you back the Value your need for “A” (waist ratio) and “B” Skirt Length. So you can draft these values on your pattern maker’s paper or directly on your fabric.
It will also tell you how much and where to add the seam allowance for your pattern.
At the end, you will have a box telling you how wide and long your fabric must be to fit the sewing pattern made with your body measurements.
The formula Changes depending if you are using Woven or Knit Fabrics.
As we explained in our post How to Make a Circle Skirt. When you make a skirt with stretch material you don’t need to add any seam allowances or cuts to the skirt.
But if you make it with woven fabrics you can add one cut on the center back or two on the sides. With this calculator, we include the necessary measurement of the seam allowances for those cuts and tell you exactly how it will look at the end.
