I’m always looking for ways to give my guests party favors because I think it’s one of the sweetest, most thoughtful things you can do as a host.
And, if you know me, you know I LOVE a good pun, and I’m definitely the girl who will laugh the loudest at the terrible dad jokes my friends make.
So, for last year’s Halloween party, I wanted to make something cute and funny that my guests could take home as a little memory of our time together.
The only problem?
I was on a tight budget, so I needed an idea that wouldn’t cost me a fortune.
While looking for inspiration, I spotted a bag of mini marshmallows and thought, “Wait a minute… I could turn these into something funny!”
And that’s how these Ghost Poop Halloween party favors came to life.
I know, I know, marshmallows aren’t exactly the most exciting gift on their own, but add a silly pun and an adorable little ghost sitting on a toilet, and suddenly, you have the cutest (and probably silliest) party favor ever!
The best part is that these were SO inexpensive to make.
I used one bag of mini marshmallows and didn’t even need half of it, plus a few labels that I designed and printed at home.
That’s it! No complicated crafts, no fancy supplies!

The best part about these Ghost Poop Halloween Party Favors is that you only need a handful of simple supplies to put them together!
I wanted to keep this project easy, inexpensive, and, of course, a little silly. Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a Halloween treat that makes everyone giggle before they even open the bag?
Here is what you will need to make these cute Halloween treat bags for your party guests.
- White marshmallows: These will be our ghost poop! You can use regular marshmallows or mini marshmallows, depending on the look and size of your treat bags.
- Clear treat bags: Choose small cellophane bags or clear candy bags so everyone can see the marshmallows inside.
- Ghost Poop printable tags: I’ll be providing the printable file for you to download and use at the end of this post.
- Scissors or a paper trimmer: Use whichever you prefer to cut out your Halloween treat bag tags neatly.
- A stapler: Depending on the design of your bags, you can staple the tags in place or use another closure that works well for your treat bags.
One thing I love about this project is how easy it is to customize.

Step 1 — Prepare Your Printable Ghost Poop Tags
First, let’s get those cute little labels ready!
The easiest way to make these Ghost Poop Halloween party favors is to use my downloadable Ghost Poop printable tags. I’ve done the design work for you, so you don’t have to worry about creating your own labels from scratch.
Print the file on cardstock paper using your home printer or send it to be printed at your local Home Depot.
Cardstock is perfect if you want your tags to feel a little sturdier.
Once you’ve printed your labels, carefully cut them out using scissors or a paper trimmer.
I like using a paper trimmer when I want straight, clean edges.
Set your finished tags aside while we prepare the treats. We’re already one step closer to having the funniest little Halloween favors!
Step 2 — Fill the Clear Bags With Marshmallows
Now for the best part: the ghost poop itself! And don’t worry, we’re keeping things cute and completely edible here.
Take your clear treat bags and fill each one with white marshmallows.
You can use regular-sized marshmallows for a fuller look or mini marshmallows if you prefer smaller portions. Both work wonderfully for these funny Halloween treat bags with marshmallows.
Just remember to leave enough room at the top of each bag to fold it over and attach your printable tag. Try not to overfill the bags, as this can make them harder to close neatly.
Before moving on, give each bag a little shake so the marshmallows settle nicely. A quick check to make sure all the bags have similar portions will also help your finished party favors look lovely when displayed together.
Step 3 — Attach Your Halloween Favor Tags
Time to give our little bags their personality! This is where the printable tags really bring everything together.
Take one filled bag and gently flatten the top, pushing out any excess air without squeezing the marshmallows. Fold the top edge over once or twice, depending on the length of your bag, to create a neat finish.
Place your Ghost Poop printable tag over the folded section and secure it with a stapler. Make sure the staples go through the tag and the folded part of the bag so everything stays in place.
If you prefer not to use staples, you can use another suitable closure, such as double-sided tape or a small adhesive strip, depending on your bag design. Just make sure the bag stays securely closed.
I especially love the contrast between the black printable label and the white marshmallows peeking through the clear bag.
