Thank you for applying to be a Sewing Pattern Tester for us today. I am so happy that you are here and that I have the opportunity to know you a little better while you help me improve the quality of My Golden Thimble’s products.
You might not know this about me, but I am a perfectionist. I want to give my readers and customers the best experience I can. And in order to do that, I’ve taken the journey of knowing you all better, who you are, and what you like and need. But the most important thing:
How can I help you to have a Happy Sewing Day?
That is why I am looking to build a Sewing Pattern Testers team for My Golden Thimble.
But…What is a Pattern Tester?
Well, a Pattern Tester is a beautiful angel on earth that helps people like me to improve their Sewing Patterns before they go live in our shops.
I will pre-test every single pattern before sending it to you.
So you will test a sewing pattern that it is already been through some filters of testing (an almost finished pattern if you want). And you will see if there is anything more to change to it.
Basically, I would send you a Sewing Pattern of your size for you to make and test. Then you will send back to me any notes and pictures you have about the pattern.
These notes can be about the fitting (maybe your size is too tight, or maybe there is one specific zone where the pattern fits too big, etc.) or about the design (You might think that the length of that skirt is too short).
Or any other general comment too, such as “This pattern is awesome, no need for a change” (In this case, I will jump repeatedly and just be very happy)…
What do you get from doing this?
With your kind and honest notes to consideration, I will modify the sewing pattern as needed. Then as a thank you for your kind support, I will send you the complete, finished, and improved sewing pattern (with all the available sizes).
Plus, there are a lot of other extra benefits that testers can win, from gift cards to discounts and even sewing gifts!!

You will have to take a survey (only once in a lifetime), and after that, I will add you to my list of Pattern Testers. Please take into consideration that this also will add you to my newsletter (I will never spam you. You only get notifications about new stuff on our blog, contests, and my free exclusive sewing gifts) as this is the platform I will also use to ask for your help.
Don’t worry because if you change your mind, you can always unsubscribe to my newsletter and to the program.
When and how would I get my Test Pattern?
Before I release a new Sewing Pattern I will select an “x” number of Pattern Testers depending on your profile and request your help through your email, showing you the pattern which I would like you to help me with and the time frame for it. If you agree to help, I will send you the Test Pattern, and we will begin the testing process.
NOTE: Before taking the survey to apply to be a Sewing Pattern Tester, please take this into consideration:
- You must have purchased (paid with money) a sewing pattern online more than once. (Any sewing pattern, no matter the brand or type).
- You will need to have basic to intermediate sewing skills. This will help us get a better point of view on the comments, and also because the Tests won’t always come with sewing instructions.
- You will have to test the pattern within the time frame given. Otherwise, you will be removed from the Pattern Testers list of trusty members and won’t be considered for future tests. If you can’t reach the time frame, you can decline to be part of that test run.
- By applying to the Pattern Testers Program, you commit to being discreet about any files, materials, and conversations you have with us. This means that you can’t share or sell anything we give you. If we discover you are doing this, we will take legal considerations. (Yeap, nobody wants that)
- You can, whatsoever, share pictures of the final product on any of your social media accounts. Once the final sewing pattern is live in our store, of course.
Note: Pattern Testers are volunteers. There is no payment involved for this exchange of help other than our gratefulness and the FREE and complete version of the sewing pattern you tested.
